May 2011.

So what happened in May? Probably more than I will tell here, haha, cause my memory always seems to fail me when I most need it.
I got my sea otter tattoo finished and I am so happy with it. It's so cute and pwetty <3
Jasper and I went to see the try-out show of Sara Kroos, which was great. I love that woman and her humour.
A lot of people are born in May, so we also went to a lot of birthday parties. So yeah, I probably gained a lot of weight thanks to all the birthdaycakes. Also went to the gym a lot, but I guess that doesn't quite make up for it.
Had a movienight with Annemieke, Co and Evelien, although I didn't see much of the movies because I was helping Annemieke with online-dating :P lol
The part of the company where Jasper works is being sold. He is keeping his job, so yeah, all we have to worry about is if he likes it there at the new company. No signs of him not liking it there so far.
I got my hair cut and dyed again, which was really needed. It's now bright red again, with black.
My friend Stephanie is getting married later in June, but since I can't go to her official bachelorette party, I decided to throw one for just the 2 of us. We went Glowgolfing (glow in the dark midgetgolf), which was hilarious! After that we went out for dinner at a little vegetarian restaurant in Den Haag, called Eethuis de Zon, and the food was really amazing!
Silverchair announced that they have put the band into "indefinite hibernation", which sucks balls. Big time.
A lot of TV shows aired their season finale and most of all had me like "OMFWTFBBQ".
Oh and of course.. I fell down on my hand, which fucked my middle and ringfinger up bad.

When it comes down to reading books... I haven't finished reading any books in May :O Shame on me, I know, I know!

I did watch 17 movies though. Some I had already seen, some I hadn't. From the ones I hadn't seen before I especially loved Turtle and Zombieland.

Movies seen in May:
85. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
84. the Nanny Diaries (2007)
83. Purple Violets (2007)
82. Turtle - The Incredible Journey (2009)
81. Fragments (2008)
80. Zombieland (2009)
79. Piglet's Big Movie (2003)
78. Stay Cool (2009)
77. Kate & Leopold (2001)
76. the Cry of the Owl (2009)
75. A Walk To Remember (2002)
74. The Last Song (2010)
73. Water for Elephants (2011)
72. Welcome to the Rileys (2010)
71. Made of Honor (2008)
70. La solitudine dei numeri primi (2010)
69. the Box (2009)

June will probably be a very busy month. Celebrated my birthday last weekend and tomorrow, the 7th, is my actual birthday. Yay!

My poor right hand

I just read my friends page, but I can't comment on all your posts because I can hardly type :(
Why is that, you ask?
I fell down on the street last Saturday. There was a little boy sitting on the side of the street, crying. I was walking Damie, but I couldn't just walk by without helping him. So I kept Damie's leash very tight and short, but he didn't understand that at all, especially not because I was kneeling down beside the little boy. Damie was very hyper so I got up again to try and calm him down.. Instead he yanked the leash and I almost fell and at the moment when I was trying to get fully up again, he yanked the leash again. So I fell down, hard, mostly on my right hand.
The little boy didn't even notice, so after I helped him I took a look at my hand.. It was covered in blood and my fingers were severely scraped.. My arms and knee also felt sore, so I went back home.
Since my middle- and ringfinger just wouldn't hurt any less, only worse, I went to the doctor yesterday.. My fingers are severely bruised and my wounds are very infected.
So yeah, I can't really type much..
You really don't want to know what my fingers look like right now btw :P It looks really gross and monstrous. I hope it will heal fast because I've got a tons of things today before Saturday for my (small) birthday party. At the moment I can hardly do anything :-S

What is she talking about?!:

"We formed Silverchair nearly 20 years ago when we were just 12 years old. Today we stand by the same rules now as we did back then ... if the band stops being fun and if it's no longer fulfilling creatively, then we need to stop.

Therefore after much soul searching we wanted to let you know that we're putting Silverchair into "indefinite hibernation" and we've decided to each do our own thing for the foreseeable future.

We assure you that this decision has not been taken lightly. In fact we've been struggling with it for quite a while now.

Back in 2009 we went into the studio to start work on a record. Initially things were going well and as a result we did some shows in 2010 to maintain creative momentum. However, over the months that followed in the studio it became clear to us that we were moving in different directions. Despite our best efforts over the last year or so, it's become increasingly clear that the spark simply isn't there between the three of us at the moment.

As a result we've decided to put the band into 'a deep sleep' while we all do other things that we find more inspiring right now. This means that Silverchair won't be making music together or playing shows any time soon. It also means that the three of us won't be working together unless and until it feels right again.

We understand some of you may be disappointed by this news but we really see it as a liberating and positive step for us at this point in our lives.

We also want to make it really clear that this decision has been made with the best possible intentions. We've always tried our hearts out to make the best music we could possibly make at the time - regardless of commercial consequences.

The three of us still truly care about each other. At the moment Ben’s busy in the studio recording his own music, Chris is working on various business, musical and charitable ventures while Daniel is creating a film soundtrack and working on other musical projects. We hope you'll continue to take an interest in our individual work over the years ahead.

In closing we'd like to acknowledge all the people 'behind the scenes' who've helped us keep this train on the tracks since we first started playing in a garage. There are too many to name but they know who they are and we truly appreciate all their love and hard work.

Above all though we want to thank you for all your support in good times and bad. You've put up with our long breaks between albums, our constantly changing musical styles and lots more. The unbelievable loyalty we've been shown by you our audience, and our friends, has never gone unnoticed or unappreciated. That’s why we wanted to tell you first.

With Sincere Thanks For Your Understanding.

Sweet Dreams.

Daniel, Ben and Chris"

I am broken. My heart shattered into a million little pieces.
Silverchair is my favourite band in the whole wide world, I love them more than Papa Roach and the Beatles together.
I know, I know.. it's not an official split-up (like Ben specifically said on Twitter).. but it definitely feels like one and to be honest, I don't think they'll ever wake up from this "indefinite hibernation".

It sucks. Big time.
Eventhough I totally understand it, it still sucks.

Their music has been my lifesaver.
I can not even try to put down in words how much they mean to me.
I am very thankful for all the beautiful, great music and moments they have given me.

March and April 2011

Ok, I planned to type and post this entry last Friday, but I ended up on a guestlist of a concert, so I didn't have any time.
I hope I still remember everything worth mentioning from March and April... probably not :') I'll just make lists :P

-went to the tattoo convention in Rotterdam with Daisy and Jasper.
-tried to save a dog with Daisy and Jasper that same day (it kind of worked, because now they don't let her wonder off on her own anymore and she can't escape from their garden.. but they still haven't brought her to the vet)
-went to the Rise Against concert in Tilburg with Ronald and bumped into Jenny (a fellow Roach) there :)
-took my mom to "We Will Rock You!" the musical, it was amazing!
-Jasper went to his first musical ever with me, "Hair"
-Met Adinda and had a great meal at a little vegan restaurant
